Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013 preview Numerous milestones will certainly be celebrated by Goodwood in the 2013 Festival of Speed, the details of which were revealed with a preview event. Fifty years from the Porsche 911 will supply the core theme from the Central Feature Sculpture, while 90 many years of Le Mans 24 Hours, 5 decades of McLaren Racing, 5 decades of Lamborghini, 40 years from the World Rally Championship and 60 years from the Sports Car World Championship may also be celebrated. The McLaren P1 will be also given its world dynamic debut in the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The P1 will certainly be one among 43 supercars participating in Goodwood’s famed Supercar Run, perhaps one of the centerpieces from the Festival that celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2012. A number of contemporary F1 drivers will also be expected to go to. The Goodwood Moving Motor Show also returns for an additional year on Thursday 11 July. Skoda, Peugeot and Lexus have confirmed they‘ll be giving world debuts to new models in the show. For 2013, the Forest Rally Stage is redesigned to become more spectator-friendly. The stage “will be considerably longer”, consistent with Goodwood, with a quick Tarmac section running with the paddock among the many additions. Other returning events towards the Festival include the Cartier Style et Lux concours, which should celebrate ‘The Greatest Car Designs of All Time’, the typical oddball creations inside the Cathedral Paddock, static displays of Land Speed Record cars upon the cricket pitch, and an expanded bike section with star riders including Kenny Roberts and 12-time world champion trials rider Dougie Lampkin.
